1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Betty ("the Service"), operated at bettygenius.co.za, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Betty is an AI-powered office assistant platform that provides document generation, calendar management, data analysis, email drafting, task management, and secure notekeeping services. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with various plan tiers.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial with access to Advanced plan features. No credit card is required for the trial. After the trial period, you must subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the Service.

4.2 Paid Plans

Subscription fees are billed monthly in South African Rand (ZAR). Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to your paid plan features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to limited access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to generate harmful, misleading, or fraudulent content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with third parties
  • Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage patterns

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Betty and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create using the Service, including documents, notes, and other materials. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by Betty's AI assistant is provided as a tool to assist you. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific needs
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of AI-generated content
  • You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical decisions

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Betty shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may request export of your data within 30 days of termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
